COPA LIBERTADORES CHAMPION ONCE CALDAS REVEALS DETAILS OF INNOVATIVE INTERNATIONALIZATION PROJECT DURING 7th HONDA SYMPOSIUM

Colombian Club Honored for Its Commitment to the Community

LOS ANGELES (October 25, 2004) - Once Caldas of Colombia today unveiled a ground-breaking program at the Honda Symposium that will help raise international awareness of the club, the Colombian city of Manizales and the entire region of Caldas, through distinct sporting, cultural, social, marketing and tourist activities, among others.

Once Caldas President Jairo Quintero Trujillo, who traveled from Colombia to Los Angeles in order to receive a special recognition for the club's contributions to the development of soccer and its commitment to the city of Manizales from the Mayor of Los Angeles James Hahn and from Fútbol de Primera, said that Once Caldas will implement this new internationalization program whenever the team plays a friendly match outside of Colombia.

"Our goal is to use the growing reputation of Once Caldas around the world in order to serve as ambassadors of the city of Manizales, the region, and the entire country," said Mr. Quintero.

"The special relationship that exists between the club and city of Manizales has made Once Caldas the ideal club to implement this Internationalization Project, which consists of developing sporting, cultural, economic, social and tourism relationships in the different countries where we play, and showing the rest of the world everything that makes our region unique."

Earlier this year Once Caldas made soccer history by becoming only the second Colombian team to ever win South America's most historic club championship, the Copa Libertadores, and on December 12 will play UEFA Champions League winners F.C. Porto in the Intercontinental Cup in Japan.
