Gold Cup Awards

Fútbol de Primera has created a prestigious awards event to honor the most outstanding players in CONCACAF's biennial Gold Cup tournament for national teams. Winners are selected by journalists covering the tournament and are honored at a gala event attended by the international and national media.

The best eleven players in the 2000 Gold Cup tournament as chosen by the media:

• Rafael Marquez (Mexico)
• Jason DeVos (Canada)
• Ramon Ramirez (Mexico)
• Cobi Jones (USA)
• Arnold Dwarika (Trinidad and Tobago)
• Roberto Palacios (Peru)
• Russell Latapy (Trinidad and Tobago)
• Carlo Corazzin (Canada)
• Carlos Pavon (Honduras)
• Faustio Asprilla (Colombia)

Additionally, Richard Hastings of Canada was honored as "Rookie of the Tournament."
